Summer look featuring Barry M cosmetic

I seem to be coming and going quite often and i think its becoming a reoccurring habit too! I've been on a mini holiday to Hobart the past 5 days and i' am still on holiday mode at the moment which totally sucks!

I don't want to get into too much detail with my personal life cause overall this is my makeup blog, hence why i keep this blog strictly about makeup only! So i finally went to sus out Hobart i always knew i would move there, but of course going there myself to see the place is a different story. I loved it there! Its a very quite place which i love and the weather is my kinda weather, Melbourne is just too hot for me! I also love the view everywhere you go you can see the mountain/sea. I will be moving there hopefully early next year!

Enough of me blabbing on i did this tutorial a while back using Barry M cosmetics which was sent to me by crushcosmetics. This look is perfect for summer! I kept the face and lips minimal and played up the eyes with blue eyeliner on my lash line. The blue looks more vibrant in person.

I'm trying to do a series of summer looks but i can't seem to find anytime considering i work 6 days a week. I will also be holding a contest/give away i am still unsure what contest so i'am still working on that! Anyway, enjoy!

Barry M Cosmetics by crushcosmetics

Finally, an Australian website which carries out NYX, Urban Decay, China Glaze and Barry M!! I was starting to get sick of shopping on online o/s especially NYX products, the products are cheap but the shipping works out to be more expensive than the items itself!

Lina, from crushcosmetics sent me some Barry M products to try out. I've already tested out this brand while i was in London and had bought 1 item. I was kicking myself when i came bk to Australia for not buying more! My favorite product is the retractable eyeliner i've been raving if you haven't heard already!

Barry M products are affordable, even though it is a drug store brand in London the quality is no difference compared to other top brands. I love the fact how there is so many colors to choose from.

I am waiting to try out the new blushes Barry M had launched, the colors are so pretty! Ans Lina from crushcosmetics will be getting the blushes in!

Good new is any of my readers ordering from crushcosmetcs will get a FREE NYX lipliner until stock lasts. All you need to do is comment ''Elizabeth'' in the comment box. So go check out the website and start shopping! There is a wide variety of NYX cosmetics and China glaze nail polish!

DIY French tips with Gel overlay

Apologize for the lack of post! For those wondering where i been hiding i have been busy working. I' am working full time so it makes it hard for me to update and make tutorials. I guess updating once a while is better than not updating at all!

I've been into doing my nails a lot lately and i' ve been experimenting with DIY acrylic as well as Gel nails. I much prefer Gel over acrylics because its much easier to work with, doesn't stink, mess free and its really quick to do. I was getting tired of filing down my nails with the acrylic because i don't have an electric drill, and plus i kept stuffin up the acrylic! I need to play around with it more i think.

If you are considering to DIY i suggest starting off with the Gel kit first because its easier to work with. But i think i will do Gel from now on i just like the look and feel of gel nails instead of acrylic. The good thing is you don't need to apply top toat because the gel overlay gives a nice glossy finish and shine.

I didn't use the tips in the kit because i already bought my own tips from a nail salon. If you want to purchase your own you can get it from any nail warehouse from either Springvale, Noble Park and i believe there is a few shops in Footscray.

I purchased the Manicare gel nail system kit from Kmart for $20. You can also get it from Terry white chemist, BIG W etc but Kmart was having a sale the orginal price is normally $25-$29. I' ve had no luck with the kits today i kept running back to the TWICE to exchange it because the Gel overlay had dried out! If you are considering purchasing the kit i recommend you checking the Gel overlay first, or keep your receipt if you need a exchange!

The kit will probably last 5 applications but depending on how many coats you apply each time. The only think i don't like is i don't think they sell the gel overlay and gel activator separately. So you might need to repurchase the whole kit! EDIT: yes they do!

I'' am LOVING the convience of the whole DIY gel nails! I belieive Gel doesn't dry on its own so you need a UV lamp. I don't want to go out having to purchase all these equipments unless i' am considering doing my nails often. But this set doesn't require any UV lamp at all! The gel activator i believe is used to 'activate' the gel for it to dry.

Overall, i love this kit i would rate it 5/5. For $20 can't complain and the end results look pretty damn good! Now all i need to do it put it to the test and see how long it lasts for!

Check it out on the website HERE!!!

DIY French Acrylic Tips

My first time playing with acrylic nails and it took a lot of time and effort! I should invest in a nail drill but i probably won't get much use out of it!

I've only had gel nails once while i was in HK and it probably only last about 1 week before it starting to chip on the side. Its expensive maintaining gel/acrylic nails especially getting it infill (?), soak off etc. So instead of paying your local nail salon $30+ why not DIY!

I bought all the ingredients from my local Nail warehouse and i' am sure they are everywhere! I bought the acrylic liquid and powder, 500 white nail tips, brush, acetone for about $50 and i got the nail glue, free false finger to practice on, nail buffer for free!

For $50 its not bad considering i get multiple applications out of it! But if you prefer paying the nail technician to do it then thats fine, but its more fun to DIY!

I' am not a huge fan of acrylic nails and gel nails because my nails are quite weak as it is. But i guess there is no harm as long as i maintain my nails somehow.

I' am by no means a Professional or claim to be nail technician! I learnt by watching nail tecs do it and it seems so easy. I' am probably not doing it right in the video but at least it didn't out ok and it was my first try!

It was fun to begin with but i kinda got sick of the filing, if you are gonna do this frequently i suggest investing in a nail drill, it will make your life much easier!

I filmed the video on 2 separate days as you probably noticed. Make sure the windows are opened when you put the acrylic on because this stuff STINKS! And don't inhale it too much or you will feel light headed. Now it makes sense to me why all the nail tecs wear mask!

Not bad for first time ay? But there are 'bubbles' on my pinky!

'Sexy' Vampire

This look is requested by a fellow youtuber. Initially it was either fairy/vampire look so i did a wearable 'sexy' vampire look instead. If you have already noticed I am not into all that fun & gruesome stuff, i prefer doing nice clean looks.

For this look it is a combo of red lips, smokey eyes, pale face and defined cheeks. It is a little dramatic than your usual smokey eyes but i assume it will pass as a 'vampire' look for Halloween if you dress it up a little.

Halloween isn't something BIG we celebrate in Australia. But I remember going 'trickle treating' back in primary school with my friends singing "trickle treat, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat!"

So here is the look and enjoy!

Golden apples & Fusion lips

Yes i know what a lame title hahaha! Golden apples is referring to my cheeks and the lips is pretty much self explanatory. But the color i used isn't as bright as what i wanted!

I don't usually wear lipstick and i look so old with lipstick on! Either that or i' am not used to seeing myself with lippie on.

I kept my eyes minimal because i wanted to emphasize on the lips. I lightly lined my upper lash line with black eyeliner then a few good coats of mascara. On my cheeks i was after a subtle golden glow (hence golden apples haha) to match the lips.

The look:
I actually used Atelier lipstick but NYX fusion is very similar!
Lipstick on its own:
Coat of NYC lipgloss in pucker lips (?)
Coat of MAC dazzleglass in Money, honey
